We’re thrilled to announce we just launched the Beta version of our brand-new Otherside Renting platform!

We’re incredibly bullish on Legends of the Mara. While it’s currently in its early, rudimentary stages, it already has a steady player base from among its holders, and it has enormous potential to become an outstanding experience as Yuga releases more features and adds complexity to its gameplay over time.

We predicted that the uneven Otherside asset distribution would create a unique economy both in-game and on-chain and thought of what services players might seek out in such a unique gaming environment. 

Asset renting was one of the obvious answers, and Odas seemed like a logical place to start.

We knew some players were bound to find their strategies severely constricted due to either a lack of Odas or possessing insufficiently varied or powerful ones.

On the other hand, Oda holders who were either not playing LOTM or didn’t need to use all their assets to fulfill their goals might find themselves with idle Odas, incurring an unnecessary opportunity cost.

That’s where Otherside Renting comes in, connecting players who need Odas and those who have idle Odas. 

Players can get temporary access to Odas at a fraction of the cost of buying them and with the added flexibility of choosing different Odas for different situations. Holders can put their Odas to work and earn returns without selling them.

We are also working on expanding renting support to all LOTM-related assets.

Since this is a distinct service from our NFT-backed loans, it has its own dedicated platform – and even though this is an early version, we’re extremely proud of our team’s work. The UI is simple and intuitive, allowing users to rent or list an Oda in minutes, even if they’d never done so. 

We’re also happy to report the protocol’s smart contracts passed Hacken’s audit, maintaining our strict security standards.
