First Fixed-Rate Borrow Loop on Tokenized Securities Pioneered by Kamui with Zharta, Securitize and Keyrock : A Milestone Pilot in Bridging Institutional Finance and DeFi

Kamui’s RWA Professional Fund leveraged Zharta’s technology to borrow at a fixed rate and loop its investment in the Securitize Tokenized Apollo Diversified Credit Fund ($ACRED). Over the last two months, it has executed multiple onchain, oracle-free, fixed-rate institutional collateralized loans on ethereum. A world first, this marks a major step in connecting traditional and decentralized finance.

In traditional finance, fixed-rate borrowing is a foundational tool provided by investment banks and brokers. By contrast, onchain finance has historically offered only variable-rate lending, where pricing is driven more by market liquidity than by collateral quality or borrower risk. This dynamic often leads to volatility, concentration spikes, and unpredictable liquidations, ultimately limiting institutional participation.

Working with Securitize, Zharta has introduced fixed-rate lending for institutional investors looking to leverage their ACRED tokens in loop transactions through its technology. This was achieved in a set of pilots in a controlled environment to build the blueprint for the future of onchain securities lending. Kamui’s pioneering institutional fund, specializing in tokenized RWAs and onchain finance, was the natural choice as the first pilot partner in the program. This milestone paves the way for programmable borrowing against tokenized securities, allowing institutions to access predictable funding.

“Fixed-rate borrowing is a game-changer in tokenized finance, enabling a more attractive return per unit of risk than variable-rate borrowing. It allows funds to focus their risk management on asset selection, freeing time and resources to focus on core strengths,” said Hadi Kabalan, Director at Kamui

Using Zharta’s DeFi non-custodial platform, Kamui conducted two preliminary end-to-end tests of one day and one month, demonstrating the full lifecycle of borrowing to repayment and redemption, followed by a larger, longer-term pilot loop with Keyrock.

Juan David Mendieta, CSO of Keyrock, said: “The transition to a tokenized financial system requires infrastructure capable of institutional predictability and efficiency. As the RWA market matures, the foundational layer must guarantee the deep liquidity and reliability required for sophisticated strategies.” He added: “We’re committed to supporting initiatives that demonstrate how onchain credit and tokenized assets can operate with the same reliability and depth expected in traditional markets.”

Together, Securitize, Keyrock, Zharta and Kamui delivered a real-world example of composable institutional DeFi.

“We’ve always envisioned a world where DeFi isn’t parallel to traditional finance, but rather, it’s connected to it,” said Nuno Cortesão, CEO of Zharta. “This collaboration with Securitize, leveraging its ACRED token, proves that institutional finance players, like Kamui, can now access programmable, fixed-rate credit onchain, ushering in a new era of innovation.”

Zharta’s DeFi protocol enables borrowers and lenders to execute deals on their own terms and automate operations via APIs, while remaining fully compliant with Securitize’s standards, with KYC verification on both sides of the transaction. Its architecture supports customizable risk profiles and offers both oracle-based and oracle-free execution. Additionally, it is compatible with permissioned assets, such as tokenized securities

Equally important, lenders can accurately price risk and define their own risk–reward ratios, a level of flexibility not possible in most existing onchain lending products.

“This pilot is a clear example of what tokenization enables,” said Carlos Domingo, CEO and Co-Founder of Securitize. “Once real securities are natively tokenized, they can plug directly into onchain credit markets, with regulatory rails built in to support new structures like fixed-rate institutional borrowing.”

This milestone opens the door for every fund, issuer, or investor to use Securitize-issued assets to access DeFi credit markets. Through integrations with Zharta, Securitize clients can:

  • Optimize fund performance and capital efficiency through collateralized looping strategies and predictable cost structures;
  • Eliminate oracle dependencies, minimizing systemic risk and improving reliability for onchain credit markets;
  • Unlock liquidity without redemption or secondary sales;
  • Expand the utility of tokenized securities beyond custody and trading into active DeFi participation;
  • Demonstrate true interoperability between tokenization and decentralized credit infrastructure.

This transaction is not just a technical first; it is a functional proof that tokenized finance is ready for institutional use. It bridges compliance and composability, proving that traditional credit and onchain lending are no longer separate worlds, but layers of one evolving financial system.
